Banjo D4251's story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Meet Banjo, a fun loving lab terrier mix who was born 7/16. Banjo is currently 40 pounds and is one of the most sociable, sweet dogs that you will ever meet. Banjo came to us heartworm positive and he has since completed his treatment, is healthy and ready to find his forever home. Banjo loves people of all sizes. He is learning to not jump up when he is excited, and is easily redirected to not do so. Banjo loves to play with other dogs, and is patient with them if they want to play longer or harder than he does. He loves a good game of chase, fetch and tug of rope. Banjo listens well, and wants to please his people. He is a picky eater and isnt motivated by treats, but he is motivated by praise. He is housetrained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He is kennel trained, however, Banjo would much rather have free roam of the house, and has proven that he is not destructive when left outside the kennel.
Banjo is a dog you fall in love with as soon as you meet him. His pictures dont do him true justice. If you are looking for a fun loving family dog, Banjo is your guy!
Banjo is participating in our Rush to Rescue program, and he is currently being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility. While there, Banjo will be attending a training program with a certified trainer and will be working on his commands with his handlers. Please contact us to find out more about Banjo. Meet and greets can be arranged with a Wags & Whiskers volunteer in the prison lobby, adoption event, or other locations for an approved applicant.
