Hola , ami go!  My name is Mario and I am  a 1

year old Maltese mix.   I just recently came to Minnesota.  Before I got here, I lived on the streets in Puerto Rico.  It was a hard life and I was very thin and hungry when I got rescued and  was  taken to a shelter where I was able to get healthy, heal the sores on my body, and grow my hair back.  Now look at me

I am adorable, right?  Check out my photos!!

I now live with several other dogs and get along with them great!   I especially like dogs that will wrestle with me, so if you have a couch potato dog, they might not want to have me around!   My foster mom says that I am too interested in cats to be trusted around them!

It takes me a while to get to know new people, though.  I am nervous around men at first and it takes me a little longer to like them.   I love my foster dad now, though, and like to jump up and sit on his lap.   I bark  (and bark, and bark, and bark)  at people when I first meet them until I know that I can trust them.   My foster mom tells me that I am too cute and fluffy to be  Cujo !   Once I get to know people, though, I am  a  very frie ndly and happy guy to be around .   After

I am comfortable with people, I am so excited to be with them that I almost fly onto their lap from across the room to give kisses and kisses and more kisses.  I LOVE giving kisses!

I am a very active dog and am always on the move.   My foster mom says that I am like a wind-up toy!   I  am learning what toys are for.   I didnt have t oys when I lived on the streets, but I have just recently started to discover how much fun they are!  See the videos of the first times that I actually figured out what to do with the yellow ducks!   I have also  recently learned that it is fun to wrestle with other dogs (see video).

I know that I am supposed to go potty outside and  I do that every time I am taken out, but I still sometimes have accidents in the house.  I am working at getting better about that .  I dont mind being in a crate if you need me to do that.  I sleep in my crate at night and dont cry or bark.  I can mostly be trusted to be out of my crate, though.  The only thing that my foster mom has to remind me about is walking on tables.  LOL!

I love to be outside!  There are so many new things to smell in Minnesota that I  have  never smelled before.  I walk  on a leash without pu lling, but I  kinda  zig and  zag  around to be sure that I get  to smell everything!

My super power is that I like to dance around on my back legs (see video)!  My foster mom calls me a dancing fool because I do it a lot!!
